(a) The Garden Island Highway - Rae Road project currently falls under the care and control of the local government. It is reserved as Other Regional Roads (ORR) in the Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS)
(b) MRS Amendment 1280/41 - Mangles Bay Marina includes a proposal to realign a portion of this ORR reservation. This was advertised by the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) for public comment until 13 November 2015. The WAPC is currently considering the submissions received.
(c) Please refer to part (a)
(d) No.
(e) Based on long-term strategic planning, the ORR reservation exists in the MRS to protect land for future road construction or upgrading. Until it can be clearly demonstrated that the reservation is no longer required, the Government does not consider the removal of any reservation from the MRS.
