DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION — TRANSPORTABLE
BUILDINGS
281. Hon SUE ELLERY to the Minister for
Education:
How many transportable classrooms
are in use in Western Australian public schools, and please list by school?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of this question.
Hon Sue Ellery : It is question 083.
Hon PETER COLLIER : This question was put on notice a couple
of days ago, I think.
Hon Sue Ellery : It was a while ago; so there will be some
more transportables since then.
Hon PETER COLLIER : There are fewer transportables than when
Labor was in office!
Hon Sue Ellery : Really?
Hon PETER COLLIER : Yes. Sorry, guys!
Several members interjected.
Hon PETER COLLIER : There are 1 801 classrooms at the moment.
There were 1 800 in 2008, but there are an additional 37 000 students. So, per
student, there are actually fewer transportables. Sorry, guys; take it on the
chin!
The requested information is in
tabular form, and I table it.
