I refer the minister to her letter to Hon Paul Omodei MLA about Mr K. Davidson and the encroachment of Eedle Terrace, Bridgetown onto lots 293 to 296. (1) Given that the Department of Land Administration has prepared a plan showing the land use as a roadway, why does the minister not direct the relevant government departments to resolve the matter? (2) Given that a further attempt to seek agreement without the need for Supreme Court action is being progressed, why has this matter not been resolved? (3) Has the minister brought this matter to the attention of the Minister for Local Government and Regional Development and the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes; and if not, why not? Hon GRAHAM GIFFARD

I thank the member for some notice of this question. I advise that the answer provided by the minister is dated 12 November. Hon Robyn McSweeney: You did not have the answer when I first asked the question. Hon GRAHAM GIFFARD: I advise the member that it may be out of date; however, this is the most recent answer I have. (1) The Department of Land Administration requires a resolution of the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes before it can proceed under the Land Administration Act 1997. As at 12 November, this had not been received. (2) Without the above resolution, this issue is a matter for the shire and Mr Davidson to resolve. DOLA is prepared to act as a mediator between the parties in attempts to settle this issue. A meeting will be organised soon. (3) The shire is aware of the situation. The minister has not raised this matter with the Minister for Local Government and Regional Development. The proposed attempts to reach resolution should be given an opportunity in the first instance.
