I refer to the Government's decision to establish a women's prison on the Pyrton site at Eden Hill and the appeal made by a number of members of the Swan Valley Nyoongar community to federal Minister Hill under the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Heritage Protection Act. (1) Has the Government given, or is it giving, consideration to the Pyrton site earmarked for the prison being used for some other purpose? (2) Is it true that the Government is considering alternatives for the Pyrton site rather than the prison? (3) Has the Government had any indication from federal Minister Hill about the likelihood of the minister preventing the Government implementing its plans to establish a prison on the site? Hon PETER FOSS
