WASTEWATER — SECONDARY TREATMENT —
COMPLIANCE
539. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the minister representing the
Minister for Health:
I refer to the registration and
compliance of wastewater treatment systems in Western Australia and changes in
this industry for secondary treatment standards for wastewater.
(1) Are Western Australian
businesses wanting to install secondary wastewater treatment systems expected
to be certified as compliant with AS 1546.3:2017?
(2) If yes to
(1), can they access testing for that compliance in Western Australia?
(3) If no to (2),
are border closures impacting on their ability to access testing elsewhere?
(4) If yes to
(3), will the government assist with the process to ensure WA businesses are
not closed due to the impact of having no testing facility in WA and the border
closures from COVID-19?
