I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question, which was first asked on
Thursday 20 November 2025; the answer was current at that time. I provide the
following on behalf of the Minister for Planning and Lands.
(1)–(4)
The former Swan District Hospital was decommissioned in 2015, and the asset was
declared surplus to state government requirements. The property is being
considered for inclusion in the South West Native Title Settlement, as agreed
to by the Barnett government. The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage
maintains a 24-hour security presence to mitigate unauthorised access,
vandalism and antisocial behaviour at the site. The Department of Planning,
Lands and Heritage advises that an answer cannot be provided within the time
available, and should the honourable member wish to place the question on notice,
the minister will endeavour to provide a response.
