I refer the Minister to the election commitment to ‘establish five new Police flying squads as a strong proactive policing force to compliment the existing area commands’ as outlined in the ALP election executive summary and ask -
(a) have these flying squads been formed;
(b) if so -
(i) where are they currently located;
(ii) when were they formed;
(iii) what is the operational strength in terms of numbers of each flying squad;
(iv) where were the members of each squad drawn from;
(v) what is the total cost of operating watch flying squad per year; and
(vi) what operational duties are undertaken by these flying squads; and
(c) if not, why not?
