156. Hon Neil Thomson to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Sport and Recreation:
I refer to the proposals
to establish an NRL team in Western Australia.
(1) Have any Department of Planning, Lands and
Heritage staff been involved in discussions about facility locations?
(2) Has any decision been made on options for the
facility locations?
(3) If yes to (2), what options are being
considered?
(4) Will the cost of facilities be provided to the
team at market rates?
(5) If no to (4), what contribution will the state
be making to new training facilities?

for some notice of the question and provide the following answer.
(1)–(5) The club will utilise several
community sports infrastructure projects by the Western Australian Government,
including a new high-performance centre to be shared by rugby league and rugby
union in Malaga. This agreement does not include any commitment for further ground
improvements.
