a-b. There is no Australind maintenance contract. The maintenance for the Australind is carried out by the Public Transport Authority.
c. The current maintenance regime details are:
i. Trip service - basic checks of fuel, coolant and oil levels coupled with a visual inspection of the car and a check of the fault log book;
ii. Weekly service - as above, plus functional checks of the railcar safety systems and the issue of a Certificate of Roadworthiness;
iii. A service - undertaken monthly;
iv. B service - undertaken four monthly;
v. C service - undertaken eight monthly;
vi. D service - undertaken sixteen monthly;
vii. Wheel-sets are re-profiled every 12-18 months; and
viii Overhauls to heavy component (i.e. engines, transmission and bogies) are undertaken approximately every 7 years.
