I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) The Department of Indigenous Affairs in Western Australia does not hire heritage consultants. When a developer or proponent for a project undertakes a heritage survey it is directly responsible for commissioning a heritage consultant. (2) The register of Aboriginal sites is located in the Perth office of the Department of Indigenous Affairs. It is unknown what the reference number AU-RPGSR-47755# refers to as no information was provided in regard to the question. Aboriginal sites are given only consecutive numbers as they are registered. (3) The Perth Department of Indigenous Affairs office has not received a complaint from Aboriginal people in the Broome area regarding being registered as informants of Aboriginal sites.
