JANUBURU SIX SEASONS DEVELOPMENT, BROOME - LANDCORP BLOCKS
I refer to LandCorp’s Januburu Six Seasons development in Broome. (1) When will stage 2 be released? (2) Given that demand strongly exceeded supply in stage 1, how many blocks will be released in stage 2 and will this also be by ballot? (3) How many unsuccessful stage 1 bidders were Broome residents, and will these people be given preference to purchase stage 2 lots at stage 1 prices; and, if not, why not? (4) Will the price of blocks increase in stage 2; and, if so, by what percentage and why? Hon ADELE FARINA

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. (1) Marketing of the stage 2 release will commence in September 2006. (2) Forty-seven lots in stage 2 will be released via a second ballot, with any blocks in stage 1 on which purchasers were unable to settle also being included in the ballot. (3) It is understood that 20 ballots submitted by Broome residents were unsuccessful as part of the stage 1 ballot. Those who were unsuccessful in stage 1 will be sent ballot packs for stage 2. (4) The price of lots in stage 2 has not yet been determined. LandCorp will obtain market valuations from the Valuer General’s Office, as well as two independent valuations and a market appraisal, to assist in setting the lot prices for the release.
