I refer to the restructure of Tourism WA, and ask -
(1) Is the Minister aware that Tourism WA staff, have been given one week to comment on the restructure while at the same time being required to prepare expressions of interests for the 74 remaining positions in Tourism WA?
(2) Does the Minister think that providing Tourism WA staff, only one week to comment on the restructure is fair and reasonable, given they are also required to make decisions on their employment future during this same one week period?
(3) If Cabinet has already made its decision on the restructure, which is reflected in the State Budget, and the process for axing these positions is already underway, what is the objective of inviting Tourism WA staff to make comment on the restructure, at this late stage in the process?

(1) No, this is incorrect. Tourism Western Australia staff were asked to provide comments on the proposed new structure and positions by 27 May 2010. The Expression of Interest process for permanent transfer to positions in the new structure did not commence until 10 June 2010.
(2) Not applicable.
(3) Cabinet considered Tourism Western Australia's new strategic focus, including key functions, anticipation outcomes and high level changes to structure. Operational details - including the disposition of individual staff positions - remain the proper concern of Tourism Western Australia's executive.
