I refer to planning control area No 75 - lot 7 Absolon Street and Stock Road, Palmyra. (1) Will the Government provide details and a map or diagram of the future upgrading of Stock Road - as referred to in the declaration of planning control area No 75 - and of other proposed works at and around the Leach Highway-Stock Road intersection? (2) Has the former Willagee Hotel site been declared a planning control area or otherwise been the subject of any planning restriction; and, if so, what restrictions apply and why? (3) Have any other properties in the vicinity been declared as planning control areas or otherwise been the subject of any planning restriction; and, if so, what restrictions apply and why? Hon KEN TRAVERS

I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) The future need for upgrading of the Leach Highway-Stock Road intersection and widening of Stock Road adjacent to the O’Connor industrial area is established in a consultant’s report, “Assessment of the Fremantle Eastern Bypass and the Preferred Alternative”, which was published by the Western Australian Planning Commission in March 2003. Plans in that report show one possible road design concept for this intersection but alternative designs are currently under investigation. The property that is the subject of PCA No 75 remains affected in these alternative road design concepts. (2) No, the former Willagee Hotel site has not been declared a planning control area. After receiving advice from the Department for Planning and Infrastructure regarding the need to plan for future upgrading of the Leach Highway-Stock Road intersection, the City of Melville has referred a development application for this site to the Western Australian Planning Commission for determination. (3) No.
