(3) One baby had a community strain of MRSA isolated from a swab on 6 December 2007. When the baby was examined on the two consecutive days following the swab, a skin lesion was not found and the baby required no treatment. This was a single case and was not part of an outbreak.
(4) One mother was admitted to Kaleeya hospital on 3 May 2007 with mastitis due to a community strain of MRSA. This was a single case and not part of an outbreak.

There was one other case of infection with a community strain of MRSA in a non?maternity patient at Kaleeya Hospital, who presented with a knee wound infection due to a community strain of MRSA. This was a different strain of community MRSA than the other 2 cases mentioned above. The patient had been found to be colonised with this organism prior to their admission to Kaleeya. The patient did not acquire this strain in Kaleeya Hospital.
