I refer to the report by the Local Government Advisory Board entitled “Local Government Structural and Electoral Reform in Western Australia: Ensuring the Future Sustainability of Communities”. (1) Did the government go to the election with a promise of no forced amalgamations? (2) Does the government intend to carry out the amalgamations recommended in this report? (3) If yes, which councils is the government considering amalgamating and in what time frame? (4) How many of the 233 submissions to the advisory board were in favour of amalgamation? Hon JON FORD
