DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION — STRATEGIC ASSET
PLAN
728. Hon SUE ELLERY to the Minister for Education:
I refer to the Auditor General's
report into the decision not to provide a copy of the Department of Education's
strategic asset plan to Parliament saying it was not reasonable and therefore
not appropriate. In light of that finding, will the minister now reconsider his
decision not to table the plan or parts of it?

I thank the honourable member for
the question.
I said at the start and I said at
the hearing that I want to be as transparent as I possibly can. That was
recommended from Treasury. We are in continued discussions with Treasury now
and as soon as we have a decision from Treasury and negotiation between
Treasury and other departments, I will let the member know.
