I refer to Fremantle Hospital and I ask: (a) how many beds are currently operational at the Hospital; (b) what are the facilities currently at the Hospital; (c) what are the services offered at the Hospital; (d) are there any unused floors at the Hospital; (e) how many beds are Fremantle Hospital closed in 2015-16; (f) how many beds will close in 2016-17; and (g) has the reconfiguration at the Hospital been completed, if no what is left to be reconfigured?

Answer as at 15 June 2016 –
(a) 289 beds. Daily active bed numbers fluctuate based on a number of reasons including clinical, infection control, maintenance and seasonal demand.
(b-c) Facilities and services offered at Fremantle Hospital include:
(d) Yes. A review of space utilisation is ongoing.
(e-f) Nil in 2015-16 and there are currently no plans to permanently close any beds in 2016-17. Daily active bed numbers are expected to fluctuate.
(g) In February 2015, Fremantle Hospital transitioned from a tertiary hospital to a specialist hospital as planned as part of the South Metropolitan Health Service reconfiguration.
