I thank the member for some notice
of this question.
(1) (a) Rockingham
General Hospital has planned to introduce a midwifery group practice model to
function in parallel with the current general practitioner obstetric model by
December 2016.
Osborne Park Hospital has introduced
midwifery-led antenatal clinics. It will expand this model to provide care
across the continuum within the next six to 12 months as capacity increases
within the service.
Albany Hospital has introduced team
midwifery as the first step in implementing midwifery‑led continuity of
care models. The model will be reviewed in January 2017—12 months of
operation—to determine outcomes and satisfaction.
(b) The business
case for the expansion of neonatal services at Osborne Park Hospital was
recently completed.
(c) The review of
maternity services at Fiona Stanley Hospital is underway and is expected to be
completed within the next three months.
