parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Mental Health:
I refer to Next Step Drug and
Alcohol Services. What is the current waiting period to access services at —
(a) each of the facilities providing
Next Step services; and
(b) the Drug and Alcohol Youth
Service?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(a) In general,
waiting times to access Next Step services average two weeks, although clients
contacting the service are provided with a brief assessment within two working
days. There is no waitlist at the newly established methamphetamine clinic.
(b) There is no waiting period to
access Next Step services at the Drug and Alcohol Youth Service.
