refer to the Auditor General’s recent opinion that some investigated local
governments did not have comprehensive policies or procedures in regards to the
monitoring or reviewing of supplier master files and ask: (a) Has the Minister or his department written to all WA local governments to request that each review policies, procedures and controls in regard to supplier master files: (i) If
not, why not; and (ii) If
yes, will the Minister supply a copy of the letter and if not, why not; (b) Will
the department devise a standard policy for local governments to follow in regards to the control of supplier master files: (i) If
yes, when will the policy be devised and when will it be sent to the local governments; (c) Has
the department identified any items in the Auditor General report that warrant further investigation: (i) If
yes, which items and when did the investigations commence; and (d) Has the Minister or his department written to the five local governments scrutinised by the Auditor General to seek undertakings that issues identified in the report have been addressed: (i) If
yes, when; and (ii) Have
any of the local governments replied to the department's
correspondence and what were the responses?
