(1) Western Power will acquire an easement with a total width of 50m on the Kojonup - Wellstead 220 kV line. This is measured at 25 metres from the line's centre line on either side of the line. One of the conditions stipulated in the easement document is that no buildings or dwellings would be allowed within the easement area. Therefore, the distance that should be maintained for any building, including residential dwellings to this transmission line is 25 metres. However, Western Power will maximise the separation of the line to houses as much as is reasonably possible for aesthetic reasons. It is hoped to maintain a minimum distance to houses of 500 metres to minimise the visual impact of the line.
(2) At a minimum of 25 metres measured from the line's centreline.
(3) Western Power proposes to use steel lattice towers for the Kojonup - Wellstead transmission line. Preliminary design suggests that the towers heights will be no higher than 43 metres. Based on this tower height, it is expected that the spans between the towers will be in the order of 500 metres, minimizing the number of structures required on the line, and on any property.
