RURAL RAIL LINES RE-SLEEPERING — INFRASTRUCTURE AUSTRALIA APPLICATION
I refer to the government’s submission to Infrastructure Australia for the re-sleepering of the Avon-Albany grain freight line and the duplication of the Brunswick-Bunbury port rail line. (1) Has the state government committed to partial funding of these projects? (2) What commitments will be required from the private operators in return for this investment in their business? However, insofar as the items the member mentioned relate to my portfolio, I advise him that the state government we will be making its intentions towards these projects known in due course. The member will know that we are keen to progress those projects by the fact that we have proposed and identified those projects for Infrastructure Australia funding, which, of course, involves a joint state and federal government input. That would seem to be self-evident by the fact that those projects have been proposed.
