ROCKINGHAM DEVELOPMENT TASK FORCE - MINISTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
I refer to the answer to question without notice 155 asked on 11 April 2006 and the minister’s conflict of interest. (1) Are there any other matters in which the minister has a conflict of interest? (2) If yes to (1), will the minister please give those details? (3) Will the minister absent himself from the impending cabinet discussion on the Environmental Protection Authority advice on the Mangles Bay tourism precinct? Hon JON FORD

I thank the member for some notice of this question, which I answer on behalf of the minister representing the Minister for the Environment. (1)-(2) The minister has advised that he is unaware of any other potential conflicts of interest in relation to his statutory decision-making functions.  However, the honourable member can be assured that should further circumstances arise, the minister would declare such an interest and stand aside from decision making. (3) The minister has advised that he will act in accordance with normal cabinet protocols in relation to this matter.
