(2) The Federal Government has failed local government in Western Australia. Mr Masters is correct in assuming that local government cannot maintain existing services and infrastructure while the Federal Coalition Government slowly chokes its income lifeline. Local government delivers vital services at the community level and Mr Masters could join with the State Government in our calls upon the Federal Government, as we continue to fight for a better deal for Western Australia. My calls for a fairer share of the national funding pool for Western Australia continues to fall on deaf ears under a Federal Coalition Government.
