(3) At the 2005 State Election the Government committed that, if re-elected, it would commence the redevelopment of the Bunbury Outer Harbour within it's next term. There is no change to this commitment or timeframe. (4) The costs of this proposal cannot be provided until the feasibility study has been approved by Cabinet, as outlined in (1) above. (5) The Bunbury Outer Ring Road is being considered as part of the State Government Auslink Mark II submission which covers the period 2009 - 2012 in the interim. Planning work has progressed with the concept design and environmental assessment completed and the land requirement included in the draft Greater Bunbury Regional Scheme. (6) Main Roads WA has undertaken a traffic study in December 2005 of Bussell Highway on the southern approach to Bunbury. This study identified that the existing highway can accommodate expected traffic growth for the next 10 years. Main Roads is currently undertaking a further review of traffic forecasts and analysing the entire route to enable the desirable timeframe for the Bunbury Outer Ring Road to be assessed. It is expected that this study will be completed in early 2007. (7) It is recognised that the connection of the Port Access Road to the Bunbury Outer Ring Road delivers the ultimate benefit of the Port Access Road. As such it is intended to connect the Port Access Road to the Bunbury Outer Ring Road.
