QUEEN

Minister for Health:
I still love you,
Jim; it's all right! If I get a third question, I promise it will be to
Hon Jim Chown.

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) Currently, eligibility for subsidised
parking for Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital patients is based upon the patient
meeting the following elements: treatment requires attendance on site at least
four times in three months; treatment takes longer than three hours per visit;
possession of a Health Care Card or other evidence of financial hardship; and
no other form of subsidised transport to site is viable.
(2) An eligible
patient pays a maximum fee of $5 per approved use.
(3) The concessions
were introduced in September 2013.
(4) (a) As at 26 September
2014, 28 people had applied for the concession.
(b) Twenty-one patients were deemed to be
eligible for the subsidy. A total of 129 tickets were validated across July and
August 2014, with a total cost of $2 244.60, inclusive of GST.
