I thank the member for some notice of this question. The Minister for Indigenous Affairs has provided the following response - (1) Yes. (2) The agency has offered a grant of $56 705 to the Mullewa Community Patrol and is currently awaiting the return of the acceptance of the grant. (3) The Mullewa Community Patrol reports as required in accordance with the grant guidelines; that is, quarterly financial and statistical returns, and an audited financial statement at the conclusion of the financial year. (4) The accountant has advised that the audit has been completed but has yet to be delivered to the department. (5) Not applicable. (6) The purpose of the patrol is to help reduce antisocial behaviour on the streets of Mullewa and thereby reduce negative contact with the criminal justice system for Aboriginal people. The patrol also assists in the reduction of truancy.
