FORRESTFIELD TRAIN STATION — PRIVATE LAND
923. Hon SAMANTHA ROWE to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the valuation of private
land surrounding the proposed Forrestfield train station. In respect of land
that is required to be purchased by the government for the station and car
parks, as of what date will the land be valued?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of this question.
As a standard procedure regardless
of the government at the time, when land is purchased by negotiation, there is
an agreed value. When land is obtained by compulsory acquisition, the Land
Administration Act 1997 provides for valuations as at the date of the first
session of the current Parliament, which is 11 April 2013.
