(1) The developing and cementing of partnerships and engagement of communities is integral to the work undertaken by the Water and Rivers Commission in tackling salinity and is part of most projects within the salinity program. However, as part of developing partnerships with catchment groups within the Water Resource Recovery Catchments, the Commission has budgeted over $150,000 for catchment support in 2003-04. (2) The Commission has budgeted $1,178,750 for the establishment of demonstration catchments for salinity in 2003-04.
