I refer to my inaugural speech on 14 June 2023, and I ask: (a) how many political parties are in existence in Western Australia, and what are their names; and (b) how many political parties in Western Australia: (i) are a “parliamentary party” as defined under section 62C(1) of the Electoral Act 1907 , and what are their names; (ii) are a “registered political party” as defined under section 62C(1) of the Electoral Act 1907 , and what are their names; and (iii) have at least one member of which is a member of the Parliament of the
Commonwealth for the purpose of paragraph (c) of the definition of
“existing party” under section 62J(1) of the Electoral Act 1907 , and
what are their names?

None of the currently registered political parties in Western Australia have a member of the Parliament of Australia. However, four of the currently registered political parties in Western Australia are a State branch or division of a federally registered political party that does have at least one member of the Parliament of Australia.
