KWINANA FREEWAY —
NORTHBOUND WIDENING
1077. Hon PETER COLLIER to
the minister representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the Kwinana Freeway
northbound widening project.
(1) Can the
minister confirm that the completion date for the project has been delayed?
(2) If yes to
(1), how long is the delay to the completion of the project?
(3) If yes to
(1), what is the new completion date?
(4) If yes to
(1), what is the reason for the project not being completed on time?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) No. The
roadworks are scheduled for completion by the end of the year. The new
northbound lanes will open in stages from early 2020 onwards. This staged
opening is required to enable other works in the area, notably the construction
of the concrete barriers for the Metronet Thornlie–Cockburn Link
project, to be undertaken safely and efficiently.
(2)–(4) Not applicable.
