126. Hon ROBIN CHAPPLE to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Regional Development:
I refer to the recent inquiries by both the chairman of the
Goldfields–Esperance Development Commission and the Public Sector
Commission into activities of the board of GEDC.
(1) Has the
minister received any briefing notes or reports on the activities/roles of any
current or former board members of the GEDC, either by his department, the
chairman of the GEDC or the Public Sector Commission into activities of the
board of GEDC?
(2) If yes to
(1), please provide details—for example—of how many; from what
department, agency and/or individuals, including the chairman of GEDC; and/or
the Public Sector Commission?
(3) If yes to
(1), will the minister table these?
(4) If no to (3),
why not?

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) Yes.
(2) One from the
Public Sector Commissioner.
(3) No.
(4) It would
not be appropriate to table the report as it includes feedback from interviews
with GEDC board members and staff who provided in-confidence opinions. However,
the recommendations within the report were tabled on Tuesday, 18 February 2014,
in response to question without notice 19(4).
