Mental health—Alcohol and other drugs strategy
1184. Hon Tim Clifford to
the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister
for Health:
Thank you,
President. I can assure you that this will be a short one!
I refer to the
upcoming 2025–2030 mental health and alcohol and other drugs strategy.
(1) Given it is now December, when can we expect
the strategy to be released?
(2) Which community organisations have been
consulted on the strategy?

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question. The following answer has
been provided by the Minister for Health.
(1) The strategy is currently being finalised for
release.
(2) Public consultation for the strategy's
development occurred between October and December 2024 and included community
organisations and people with lived and living experience. All members of the
Western Australian community were given the opportunity to provide feedback on
the strategy, including non-government organisations. The Mental Health
Commission also provided grants to community organisations for consultation.
Consultations included face-to-face and online workshops, survey responses and
written submissions across metropolitan and regional WA.
