The Independent Review of the Vocational Education and Training Sector in Western Australia Final Report was issued to the Minister for Training and Workforce Development on 8 May 2014.
The report was released for public comment on 20 June 2014, with final comments closing on 11 July 2014.
The report, recommendations and feedback received through the public comment period are being considered with the view to preparing an action plan to progress the implementation of the endorsed recommendations. The action plan will be released in due course.
The report includes recommendations on the most appropriate level of autonomy for State Training Providers. To provide State Training Providers with clarity in this area these recommendations have been considered as a priority and have resulted in the development of the Ministerial Statement on autonomy of State Training Providers. The Ministerial Statement was provided to State Training Provider Governing Council Chairpersons on 23 October 2014.
