(1) The Australind fire station was due to be completed in June 2012. A suitable site was selected on Paris Road at the Australind Industrial Estate and a standard contract entered into with the developer in November 2010.
However, the developer of the site has since been placed into receivership and the receivers are working to secure an alternative company to proceed with the development of the estate.  Under the terms of the contract, the Fire and Emergency Services Authority of Western Australia is unable to select an alternative site to build on until after the contract expires in June 2012.  This will result in an unavoidable delay on delivery of the new fire station.  Consequently the date of completion is now expected to be 12 months after finalisation of the land acquisition.
