ARMADALE RAIL LINE — CLOSURE
1364. Hon TJORN SIBMA to the minister representing the
Minister for Transport:
I refer again to the upcoming
closure of the Armadale line to facilitate Metronet works and my earlier
questions concerning a lack of meaningful consultation with disability
advocates.
(1) Has the minister now met with
People with Disabilities (WA); and, if so, when?
(2) Has a response
been sent to PWD (WA) addressing its concerns about the impact of the closure,
as was promised in the minister's answer of 19 October?
(3) If yes to (2), please table the
response.

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(3) Metronet
and Transperth have directly engaged with People with Disabilities (WA) on the
impact of the Armadale–Thornlie line shutdown and the strategies being
put in place to assist all passengers. A written response was provided to PWD (WA) on 20 October 2023, which included an
offer to meet with the minister's office and Metronet. Follow-up
phone calls offering a meeting have also been made but not returned.
