I refer to drug-driving offences and penalties, and I ask: (a) for each financial year since 2021-22, how many motorists in Western Australia (WA) were fined or penalised for driving with illicit drugs in their system? Please provide a breakdown by: (i) metropolitan region; (ii) regional WA; and (iii) drug type detected, where available; (b) of those caught drug-driving in the same period in (a), how many: (i) were first-time offenders; (ii) were repeat offenders; and (iii) also recorded alcohol above the legal limit at the time of the offence; and (c) what is the total value of fines issued for drug-driving offences for the period in (a)?

·         Metropolitan and regional is based on the location of the court where the charge/s was finalised, and the financial year is when the charge/s was finalised.
·         Distinct accused are counted by region. An accused is counted twice in the same year if they have a conviction in both metropolitan and regional locations. The total figure is a count of distinct accused regardless of location.
