I refer to Aboriginal Heritage Surveys for the Goldfields Highway between Wiluna and Meekatharra, and I ask: (a) have the surveys been undertaken; (b) if no to (a), when will they be undertaken; (c) what is the cost of the surveys; (d) had any surveys been previously undertaken for any sections of this highway; and (e) if yes to (d), why do these sections need to be resurveyed?

(b)  Field work for the heritage surveys is programmed to commence mid 2014.
(c) $210 000.
(d) Yes
(e) Additional information is required for Main Roads to adequately assess, avoid and manage the potential impacts of the proposed project to Aboriginal heritage sites in regard to both ethnographic and archaeological values.
