CIVIL UNION LEGISLATION - AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY
I have a supplementary question. What is the Premier’s view, and will he introduce similar legislation in Western Australia? Mr A.J. CARPENTER

I am not afraid to give the house my view. There is no intention to develop legislation, and no legislation is being developed, along those lines in Western Australia. My view is this: if couples of same sex want to enjoy the rights that the law provides them, as it does provide and has provided them in the ACT, that is their right.
