Synergy—Hon Sue Ellery
851. Hon Simon Ehrenfeld to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Energy and Decarbonisation:
I refer to the appointment
of former Leader of the House Hon Sue Ellery as a non-executive director to the
Synergy board, announced on 18 September 2025, for which The West Australian reported an annual
remuneration of $72,657.
(1) Is Hon Sue Ellery currently receiving any form
of remuneration or payment associated with her position as a non-executive
director on the Synergy board?
(2) If Hon Sue Ellery is not being remunerated or
is acting in a voluntary capacity, why has she been appointed during the
six-month ban period?
(3) What legitimate purpose is served by placing
Hon Sue Ellery on this board during the post-Parliament ban, which has already
been reduced to six months by this government?
