POLYTECHNIC
WEST — STUDENT ADMISSIONS
650. Hon ALISON XAMON to the
Minister for Training and Workforce Development:
I refer to the answer
to my question 618 on 8 September regarding the waitlist for the certificate in
general education for adults, and further ask —
(1) What has been the maximum number of
students waitlisted for certificates in general education for adults in each
enrolment for 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010?
(2) Will the minister match the funding
identified as belonging to the 2009–10 budget with similar funding for
the 2010–11 budget?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) Polytechnic
West has advised that with reference to the certificate in general education
for adults the following waitlists applied: 2007, nil; 2008, nil; 2009, nil;
2010, 94.
(2) The $5.7 million
provided in 2009–10 budget for the economic stimulus package was for
2009–10 and 2010–11. This funding was for additional
certificate 1 courses, including the certificate in general education for
adults. This funding is available to all state training providers through their
funding agreements and to private training providers through a range of programs.
