CORONAVIRUS —
RECRUITMENT DRIVE — REGISTERED NURSES
263. Hon KEN BASTON to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I
refer to the minister's statement ''New drive to boost medical
workforce'' of 17 March 2020 regarding a recruitment drive to attract extra medical staff to support
the COVID-19 response. I note that the 2019–20 WA skilled m igration
occupation list currently has four types of registered nurse occupations listed
as under review. Will the minister request that these occupations immediately
become available to apply for?

I thank the member for some notice
of the question.
No. I acknowledge that the four
types of registered nurses on the 2019–20 WA skilled migration
occupation list are currently under review. It is important to note that travel
advice on international travel in light of COVID-19 is an evolving situation in
Australia.
