(1) No. (2) Not applicable. (3) The United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) is facilitating voluntary phase out of CCA treated timber for use in domestic situations. It has not recommended the removal of any existing structures. The Commonwealth Authority responsible for registration of pesticide products, the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA), is reviewing arsenic timber treatment products, including copper chrome arsenate (CCA). The APVMA released a draft of its review in December of last year for public comment. The APVMA is expected to release its final report containing recommendations in relation to CCA timber treatment products this year. The APVMA is liaising closely with the US EPA.
