(a) can the Minister list any limitations on further building development at Booragoon Primary School as a result of the presence of septic tanks;
(b) what are the Department of Education and Training’s standards, guidelines or policies for septic tanks located on government school grounds:
(i) if none exist, why not; and
(ii) in view of the overspill from a septic tank at Booragoon Primary School will the Department be developing standards, guidelines or policies;
(c) is Booragoon Primary School currently able to be connected to the main sewer system:
(i) if so at what location(s) and what is the approximate cost for each location(s);
(d) if Booragoon Primary School can be connected to the main sewer system why has it not yet been connected;
(e) can the Minister provide a list of all Western Australian Government schools in the Perth metropolitan area that are currently using septic tanks and the date the school was built;
(f) have any of the septic tanks at Booragoon Primary School been replaced since the school was founded in 1967:
(i) if so which ones; and
(ii) when were they replaced;
(g) what is the estimated and or acceptable lifespan for septic tanks;
(h) is there a policy to replace septic tanks on school grounds;
(i) when will the septic tanks at Booragoon Primary School be replaced;
(j) is the Minster aware that in 2007 pre-primary classes at Booragoon Primary School were interrupted on several occasions and the children had to be moved due to an offensive smell from a leaking septic tank;
(i) if so how is the Minister going to ensure this does not have to happen again;
(k) is the Department of Education and Training aware of the leaking septic tanks at Booragoon Primary school:
(i) if so are they doing anything about this; or
(ii) if not, why not;
(l) is the Department of Education and Training aware that the leaking septic tanks at Booragoon Primary school may have contaminated the groundwater used for the school ovals, plant beds and nearby wetlands:
(i) if so are they doing anything about this; or
(ii) if not, why not;
(m) is the Department of Education and Training able to guarantee there are no environmental or health risks associated with the leaking septic tank(s) at Booragoon Primary school; and
(n) if the Department of Education and Training are not able to assess for any environmental or health risks associated with the leaking septic tank(s) at Booragoon Primary school have they asked another department and if so which department ?
