(d) Shires in which the Pastoral Water Grants have been awarded are: Mt Magnet – $20,318 Upper Gascoyne - $6,750 Halls Creek -$15,000 Broome - $14,300 Ashburton - $15,000 Meekatharra - $ 13,900 (e) The Pastoral Water and Farm Water Grants Schemes are administered by the Water and Rivers Commission under the Rural Water Program. (f) Commencement of the water supply works on individual station leases is at the discretion of the owners providing it is done within the two year time frame.

(a) Grants recently announced were:
Farm Water Grant Scheme (Agricultural Area)– March 2002 round - $1,577,394 (comprised of 154 grants)
An additional $1.5m for the Farm Water Grants Scheme was announced by the Premier on 23 October 2002 as part of a drought assistance package to aid farmers and rural communities
Pastoral Water Grants Scheme (Pastoral area) – June 2002 round - $ 85,268 (comprised of 7 grants).
(b) Farm Water Grant recipients in the agricultural region are given 18 months from the date of approval to undertake the on-farm water supply improvements and claim the grant. Pastoral Water Grant recipients have two years.
(c) Answered in Questions (a) and (d).
