NON-GOVERNMENT HUMAN
SERVICES SECTOR
1058. Hon NEIL THOMSON to the minister representing the
Treasurer:
I refer to the answer to question
without notice 1011 regarding the published budget increased spending of $44.3 million
to index the non-government human services sector, and I seek further
clarification.
(1) How much
NGHSS funding was expended in 2023–24 and, separately, is provided in
2024–25 for service contracts delivered by community service
organisations on behalf of public sector agencies?
(2) Given the
2023–24 published indexation rate was 4.51 per cent and the answer
states it is now 4.81 per cent, can the Treasurer confirm the additional amount
provided in 2024–25 in dollars and that it meets the new indexation
rate of 4.81 per cent?
(3) If for (2) the funding increase
does not meet the new indexation —
(a) what is the shortfall; and
(b) how will the
shortfall be met by the NGHSS?
