I thank Hon Simon O’Brien for some notice of the question. (1) The information referred to in the member’s question includes total campaign and non-campaign advertising expenditure by government departments and agencies as reported by the government’s master media agency contractors in their end of financial year reports. It should be understood that the government’s master media campaign advertising contractor is simply a media booking agency and is not involved in the development of any government advertising campaigns. This is the responsibility of the individual departments and their advertising agencies. The non-campaign advertising contractor prepares artwork for recruitment, tenders and public notices and books media space on behalf of contract users. (2) Not applicable.
