Sex offenders—Chemical castration
675. Hon Maryka Groenewald to the minister representing
the Minister for Corrective Services:
I refer to my question
without notice asked on 12 August 2025 to the Attorney General regarding
medication used to chemically castrate sex offenders. Given that the Attorney
General stated that the decision is in fact made between corrective services
officers and medical practitioners, I ask:
(1) Can the minister provide a list of the most
common medication prescribed to chemically castrate sex offenders?
(2) If not, why not?
