I refer to page 304 of Budget Paper No.2, Volume 1, line-item "Adjustments to Core Regional Services" under the heading "Ongoing Initiatives", and I ask: (a) why has there been such a significant increase between 2024-25 ($42,819 million) and the budget for 2025-26 ($168,895 million)?

(a) The increase on prior year reflects timing of additional funding approved to recognise cost pressures in delivering regional healthcare. The $42.819 million allocated for 2024–25 in the 2025-26 Budget Paper builds on a previously approved uplift while the $168.895 million for 2025-26 represents an extension of the additional funding into this financial year.
