PROPOSED SOCCER STADIUM
If there is a second soccer side from Western Australia in a national competition, would that influence the minister in another direction rather than, say, favouring the Leederville Oval as a soccer ground? Mr CARPENTER

The member for Dawesville has raised an interesting prospect. As far as I know, two other groups in Western Australia have a bid in to Soccer Australia for a second licence to take part in the national soccer competition. I have had no discussions with either of those groups; in fact, as I have said in answer to a previous question that I have had no discussions about the stadium requirements with the current licence holders. However, I am led to believe that Soccer Australia within the next two months will make a decision and an announcement on whether a second licence for a national side out of Western Australia will be issued. If that comes to pass, we will obviously have to take into consideration the requirements and needs of a second side.
